“This was a completely intuitive piece. I closed my eyes and remembered seeing both the vivid orange and subtle pastel colours of the desert which whirled and moved together in the distance of the Chilean desert as sandstorms moved towards us. I chose to present this piece as a Triptych, rather than a single piece as I wanted to express the movement of the sandstorm as it travelled across the vast landscapes. I saw the movement in my mind first, then felt it travel down to my hands to thus express and therefore create the marks on the canvas, showing the motion and movement of the sand.
