About Lanson Moore

AS SEEN IN

Lanson is a Yorkshire based abstract artist and mum to two year old, Theodore, working from her studio set in the countryside of Wakefield.

Driven by a lifelong passion for art and influenced by her experiences of the world and travel, she creates beautiful pieces of work inspired by the colours, shapes and patterns found in nature.

Her approach to creating art is mostly intuitive and she uses a variety of tools and materials to produce a variety of strokes and textures, building up layers and giving the observer a sense of depth and opportunity to ‘feel’ connected to a particular place, emotion or experience.

Lanson’s use of colour is just as varied as the colour palette of which nature gives to us; her pieces can and can be bright and bold, full of energy and joyful feelings or more muted, soft and intriguing..

Ashes into Art

Lanson also offers a memorial art service, where she incorporates the cremation ashes of your lost loved ones into a piece of art, whether that be human or pet.

Pieces can be a pre- determined image, or through a bespoke, personal consultation and exploration of your loved one, she can create a truly unique artwork representative of their character, soul and spirit.

“When I create art, I feel a sense of home; an infinite sense of being where it becomes possible for me to express myself via movement, colours, shapes and patterns in a way that is not possible for me with words alone”.

“My artwork is often based on memories about a particular place or experience of the world around us.

For me, art is so powerful and permeating, because it allows me to return to a particular feeling and in turn create something visually entirely new, but which is reminiscent of a moment in time – of what one saw, what one felt, what one heard or what one did.

This is why I love producing commissions for others; to allow them to return to special moments by transforming their memories into meaningful pieces of art which can be immortalised forever”.
